MICROSTATE OF HENULDIA

1. Hobby – Mainly for fun! PC AM loved nation simulating, "writing laws," "having a military," etc...

It also provides stuff to do and goof around with when bored. It’s like LARPing to an extent, except Henuldia wishes to be treated as a real (albeit symbolic) entity and legitimate micronation which operates with a degree of realism (with some exceptions). As of 2018, the microstate does not occupy any real Terra Firma and considers an apartment room its territory, but hopes to change that real soon.

 

2. It’s a personal symbol - Aside from being a small hobby, the microstate does represent some of our values and is a testament to some of our childhood passions, and was born as a ceremonial expression of various personal sentiments. To clarify with the whole autonomy thing, we don’t have any real intentions of seceding from the Philippines at the moment (which we call Baybaya here); as such, Henuldia can be considered autonomous at most.

 

3. Study tool purpose 1 – To get in the shoes of a country; see things from their perspective. It can be pretty interesting, and you get to understand stuff like why things that seem plain and simple aren’t so plain and simple as a state. Additionally, as the president of Molossia (another micronation) Kevin Baugh once said, “It’s a nice way to look around the world. You can see what countries are doing and say, ‘I can do that!’ “

 

4. Study tool purpose 2 – Comparing the state to the human individual; observing analogies and such. You also observe some cultural and social elements at play, how they interact and are reflected at a "macro" or state level in contrast to a "micro" or personal level.

 

5. Study tool purpose 3 – It provides something to practice with, in writing, speaking, filming, organizing things (for coherency) etc.
